Research Notes:
Isabel/Isabella Irons is named as Mother on several of her children's birth and death records.
Between 1775 and 1790, we can find only 2 birth records which might be her.
One is Isabel Irons b. 8/12/1776 in Rattray, Perthshire to James Irons and Marjory Millar.
The other, Issabel, b. 20/9/1781 in Bridestown, Airlie, Angus to George Irons and Jannet Gellately.
She is not named in the birth records of her first 5 children. We did not find a birth record for her first child. However, of these first 5, she is named -
- in her son Alexander's death record (26/11/1884), by her great grandson-in-law.
- in her son James' death record (1/11/1893), by her grandson.
That she died about 1828 is a guess because Robert Gold re-married in 1829. There are no OPR death records for Edzell.
